Few days ago, Target announced that it will offer free credit monitoring service, kinda showing that its trying hard by taking a strong stand to help protect consumers information. It’s one way to help win the consumers back and trying their best.

It’s offered anyone who shopped at their US stores via creditmonitoring.target.com. The package includes a complimentary copy of your Experian credit report and 12 months of daily credit monitoring from Experian’s ProtectMyID, which includes identity theft insurance and personalized assistance with identity theft fraud. You must sign up for an activation code by April 23, 2014 and redeem by April 30, 2014. ProtectmyID only monitors your Experian credit report for change, including new inquiries, newly opened accounts, new derogatory information (such as delinquencies or medical collections) and more.

As many of you already know there are other free services already exists to get your credit reports and scores like annualcreditreports.com and CreditKarma.com. But these services don’t monitor your credit transactions regularly unless you sign up with them for a fee. So this a good deal to get some free monitoring if you ever shopped in Target. I signed up and got the activation code and yet to sign for monitoring.
